Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 October 2026
Wikisio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates wikisio.com, a public information website featuring educational, recruitment, scholarship, and practical reference content, together with online tools such as PDF conversion. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you visit or use the site, why it is processed, how advertising and analytics technologies work, and the choices available to you. It applies to visitors, readers, people who contact us, and people who use our tools. Please read it with our Cookie Policy, Terms of Use, and Disclaimer. A policy page describes practices; it does not itself create a consent banner or change browser settings.
Information you provide
You can browse most pages without creating an account. If you contact us at [email protected], we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, subject, message, and any attachments. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, government identity numbers, sensitive health information, or confidential documents unless we specifically ask for them through an appropriate secure process. We use correspondence to respond, investigate a site issue, protect the service, and keep a limited record of the exchange when needed to follow up or meet legal obligations.
When you use a browser-based tool, including a PDF converter, files and information you submit may be processed to provide the requested result. Use only files you have the right to process. We do not ask you to upload a file that contains personal or confidential information. Processing behavior can depend on the particular tool and browser; do not assume that a file is permanently stored, immediately erased, encrypted end to end, or never transmitted unless the tool clearly says so. Avoid uploading sensitive records. If a tool offers a download, save the result to a place you control and close the page when finished.
Information collected automatically
When a browser requests a page or tool, our hosting, security, and delivery systems may receive technical data needed to send the response and keep the service reliable. Depending on the request and system, this can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, referring page, browser and device characteristics, operating-system information, language settings, response status, and diagnostic or security events. Web servers and security providers commonly use this information to deliver content, detect abuse, troubleshoot failures, and protect the site. We do not use this description to promise that every provider logs every field for the same period.
Wikisio uses Google Analytics 4 through Google Site Kit for audience and site-use measurement. The configured Google tag is set to exclude logged-in WordPress users. Analytics can measure events such as page views, engagement, device and browser categories, and referral information. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and process data under its own terms and privacy disclosures. Analytics reports help us understand which pages are useful and where visitors encounter problems; we do not use them to make decisions about a visitor’s eligibility for employment, education, benefits, or other services.
The site also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare describes this product as measuring website performance and traffic without tracking individual end users across customer websites or collecting personal information for its analytics metrics. Separately, Cloudflare may provide delivery, security, and reliability services for the site, which can process technical request data as needed to perform those functions. The exact information held for security or operational purposes is governed by the provider’s service and applicable settings.
Advertising and Google services
Wikisio has Google Ad Manager publisher advertising tags on selected pages and ad placements. A tag can make an ad request, but an ad may not fill; seeing a labelled blank placement does not mean that an advertisement was displayed. Available ads, measurement, and frequency can vary by location, device, page, inventory, and advertiser demand. Google and other participating advertising technology providers may use cookies, mobile identifiers, IP addresses, local storage, or similar technologies to deliver, measure, limit, and report advertisements, subject to their own policies and your choices.
At the time this policy was reviewed, Google Site Kit showed that AdSense was not linked and that its account and site setup were incomplete. We therefore do not claim that AdSense has approved Wikisio or that an AdSense account is actively serving ads. Google Ad Manager tags are a distinct implementation. If we later connect AdSense or change advertising providers, we will update this notice to describe the actual services and settings before or when the change takes effect. A policy statement alone does not mean a Google review is complete.
Google’s publisher guidance requires publishers to explain third-party advertising cookies, how prior visits may be used for ad selection, and how users can control personalized advertising. Visitors can review Google’s advertising and privacy controls and can manage cookies in their browser. Those choices may affect relevance or measurement; they do not necessarily remove all advertising. For current choices, consult Google’s own privacy controls because provider interfaces and regional requirements can change.
Purposes and legal grounds
We process information to provide pages and tools you request; answer questions; maintain, secure, and improve the website; understand aggregate audience and technical performance; display and measure advertising; prevent fraud, spam, and invalid activity; comply with applicable law; and establish or defend legal claims. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, the basis may be performance of a requested service, legitimate interests such as site security and basic operations, consent for technologies or advertising where required, or compliance with legal obligations. The applicable basis depends on the activity and the rules that apply where you are.
Cookies and consent choices
Cookies and similar technologies can remember preferences, support measurement, and help advertising providers recognize a browser. Some are necessary to deliver a requested function; others are optional analytics or advertising technologies. See the Cookie Policy for categories, examples, and browser controls. If a consent interface is provided for your location, use it to accept, reject, or change optional categories. Browser-level blocking or deletion is also available, though some site functions may not work as expected.
At the time of review, we did not verify a live Google-certified consent management platform or IAB Transparency and Consent Framework consent flow on Wikisio, and Site Kit’s consent-mode setting was not enabled. This is a disclosure of the observed configuration, not a claim that regional consent requirements are satisfied. Google requires a certified CMP integrated with the IAB framework for publishers serving personalized ads in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Before serving such ads, we need to implement the appropriate consent mechanism and signals or ensure ads are served in a permitted non-personalized mode. Visitors should not treat this policy as a substitute for the consent choice that law may require.
Sharing and service providers
We may make information available to hosting, security, analytics, advertising, and technical service providers when they need it to perform services for Wikisio. These providers may process information under their own privacy notices and contractual obligations. We do not sell a visitor list or provide contact messages to advertisers for their independent marketing. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or in connection with a transfer of the website or its assets. We may publish information only when you request or authorize that publication.
Retention and security
We retain contact messages long enough to respond, manage the relationship, and keep records needed for legitimate operational or legal purposes. Server, analytics, security, and advertising records are retained according to the settings and retention practices of the relevant systems and providers. We aim to keep information only as long as needed for the purpose, but retention periods may vary. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small public website. No website, email, internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise that an unauthorized party will never defeat safeguards.
Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of certain personal information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or receive a portable copy. You may also have a right to complain to a privacy regulator. To make a request, email [email protected] and describe the request and the page or interaction involved. We may ask for reasonable information to verify that the request concerns you. We will not ask you to email a password or government ID to prove identity. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, or accounting purposes, and some requests may be limited by law.
Children, external links, and international visitors
Wikisio is a general audience information site and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. Do not knowingly submit a child’s personal information through email or a tool. Parents or guardians who believe a child has sent us information may contact us to request review. Pages may link to government, education, employer, or other third-party sites. Those sites have their own practices; we do not control their content, cookies, security, or privacy choices. We encourage you to read their notices before submitting information. Providers and hosting systems may process data in countries other than your own, where privacy laws can differ.
Changes and contact
We may update this Policy when our services, technology, advertising setup, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top indicates the latest revision. For a material change, we will make the revised notice available on this page. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected]. Please include “Privacy” in the subject and avoid sending sensitive personal records.
This policy is intended to describe the site’s present practices as accurately as possible. It is general information, not a guarantee about a third-party provider’s independent processing, and not legal advice. If our actual advertising or analytics settings change, the implementation and the disclosures should be reviewed together.
